Saturday is a great day to come up for air during the conference, since the Saturday farmers market is just one block away, ringing the Capitol Square.

Need a break from the rigors of environmental journalism and compulsive socializing? The Capitol building is right around the corner, and its glorious excesses of architectural enthusiasm are decidedly rejuvenating. I missed the observation deck by 5 minutes (closes at 5:00 pm and at lunchtime), but I'm going to try to hit it Friday or Saturday. And there are no security guards going through your knapsack--you waltz right in! All right, Wisconsin!
